Question: What home design trends are you seeing in 2024?
Dynamic Hoods
Range hood vent covers are no longer an afterthought, but a prominent focus in kitchen design. They are bold and eye-catching with unique textures such as plaster or wood fluting. Every kitchen needs a focal point, and the range hoods are reclaiming their position in the kitchen as the centerpiece.
Utility Room Makeovers
These high-traffic spaces are undergoing a stylish transformation. Utility rooms are now embracing fun creativity and elevated efficiency. The functional has truly become the fashionable!
We Love a Monochromatic Moment
Color drenching is in! Best implemented in smaller spaces such as bedrooms, bathrooms and pass-through spaces. This technique can make rooms appear more spacious and tidier, especially when you extend the monochromatic treatment to ceilings, baseboards and doors.
Warmer Colors
The design world is experiencing a shift away from cool grays towards warm, earthy browns… and I like it!
The Purposeful Kitchen
One of my personal favorite current trends is the expansion of kitchen storage options (yay!) Designers are focusing on creating purposeful and customizable drawers and cabinets as well as embracing larger pantry spaces.
Maximalist Aesthetic
High Polish Fixtures
A revival of shiny hardware is set to make a bold statement in design this year. This trend harks back to the 1970’s offering a touch of retro elegance.
To see how these trends have shifted over the years, you can reference our 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018 design trend articles.
